This page specifies what it means to conform to the Talent License Protocol 1.0, lists the numbered requirements of each role, and describes the conformance suite for platforms.

Conformance classes

TLP 1.0 has four conformance classes, one per role: license server, platform, generation tool and verifier. A product conforms separately for each role it plays. A platform that runs its own models conforms as a platform and as a generation tool. TLP-CONF-1. An implementation conforms to TLP 1.0 in a role when it meets every requirement stated with MUST, MUST NOT, REQUIRED, SHALL or SHALL NOT that the tables below list for that role. It MUST document each SHOULD or SHOULD NOT requirement for that role that it does not follow, and why. TLP-CONF-2. A claim of conformance MUST name the version and the roles, such as “TLP 1.0 platform and generation tool”. TLP-CONF-3. The requirements of an interoperability page apply when the implementation uses that standard, with one exception: a platform that meets a c2pa_manifest obligation MUST meet the C2PA requirements listed for platforms.

A platform that runs its own models also meets the generation tool requirements.

Requirements on the Standard

TLP-OBL-14, TLP-OBL-15, TLP-VER-1 and TLP-VER-2 bind changes to the Standard itself, not an implementation. See Versions and changes.

Conformance suite

Reflections documents proposed platform conformance cases against the sandbox fixtures. A hosted runner and dashboard run control are not available. Case IDs start with CT-, such as CT-CHK-01, and are separate from the TLP- requirement IDs on this page. The production conformance page maps each proposed case to the requirements it would exercise. Current live keys can be created in the dashboard for account and owned-license reads without passing this proposed suite. They do not enable live checks, output submission or receipts. Those capabilities require implemented endpoints and production acceptance evidence; possessing a live key is not a claim of platform conformance. These proposed cases cover the requirements above, not every platform requirement. A platform claims the others against the platform table on this page. TLP 1.0 has no published suite for license servers, generation tools or verifiers; they claim conformance against the tables on this page.
